A transformative nonprofit organization, University City Partners is investing resources, shaping public spaces, and helping to plan better-built environments. This strategic visionary organization is working to expand University City—now the second largest employment center in Charlotte serving large and small businesses, start-ups, and research institutes in the financial, healthcare, technology, and communications sectors, to include Wells Fargo, TIAA, Duke Energy, Electrolux, FoxSports, EPRI, and the Polymer Center.

The Boardwalk is proud to have University City Partners’ strong support of our tenants—local business owners who comprise an aesthetic, inspiring, and growing focal point of University City. University City Partners sponsors community events at our center, like the Queen City Arts Festival, the University City Wine Festival, UCity Lights Winter Celebration, and everyone’s favorite—the University City Farmers Market. This market at the lake supports local farmers and entrepreneurs and serves a community of more than 175,000 residents. It provides offerings of a select group of farmers who use organic practices to help steward the earth, while producing and sourcing some of the freshest and most nutritious food available in North Carolina. Visitors will find seasonal vegetables and fruits, pasture-raised egg and meats, as well as artisanal food and natural beauty-care products. The market is one example of how the lives of our residents are being enriched through the impactful work of University City Partners.

University City Partners is a connector of people to places. Committed to building relationships and community, to creating a city within the city where residents live, work, play, learn, and invest.
